Radiographic testing is one of the widely accepted NDT technique to detect internal defects.
Radiographic testing (RT) is widely used in the industrial sectors of aerospace, petrochemical, oil and gas, chemical and automotive for all types of components and parts. It is commonly used for inspection of welding, casting, forging, and also in mapping of corrosion and erosion and wall thickness measurement.
It is one of the most versatile method that can be used performed on site of offsite and on part having varying dimensions. The radiography technique used X-ray or Gamma ray as a source to penetrate materials to be tested. The radiation is passed through the component and captured on the radiographic film, and the difference in density is analyzed.
The main advantage of radiography is that is required minimum surface preparation and provides permanent and multiple records of the tested part.
ANDT offers both laboratory and on-site radiographic testing, and our highly experienced and trained radiographic staff are level 2 or 3 qualified in ASNT SNT-TC-1A and we offer Total Quality Assurance.
On-Site Radiography Testing
If the plant or equipment require on site radiography for inspection of corrosion or fatigue failures or wall thickness, radiography can be a viable option as it is portable and testing can be carried out in a short notice.
Radiographic testing using X-rays and gamma rays are highly hazardous and stringent guidelines and legislation is followed while operating them. When ANDT carries out site radiography you have complete assurance that all legal requirements and legislative notifications are met, including the transportation of isotopes, protective enclosure barriers and warning systems and our inspectors are highly qualified to handle multiple type of parts and equipments.
