Welder Qualification Test

ANDT offers training to welders by the American welding qualification.

Our specialist trainers provide welder training and certify them by American qualifications. We help our clients to train their staff and develop welder skills that are required by your company, this might help you to maintain a specific quality or bid for new welding work requiring a specific code. ANDT provides training in various industries such as construction, railways, automotive, power generation, oil, and gas, etc.

Welder training can be provided at your well-equipped training centers or our client's workplace. Our trainers have extensive experience in all major welding qualification standards and they hold CSWIP (Certificate Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel) qualification.

Welder qualification codes/procedures to:

  • BS EN ISO 9606 part 1 – 5
  • BS 4872 parts 1 & 2
  • BS EN 287
  • BS EN ISO 15614 parts 1 – 14
  • ASME Section IX

These international standards specify the requirements for welder’s qualification in the welding of most materials. These codes provide us with a certain set of rules for the qualification of welders regardless of any type of industry. These codes refer to welding that is a manual of partly mechanised welding and covers all types of welded joints.

BS EN 287

This European Standard defines the qualification for welders in steel BS EN 287 will be replaced by EN ISO 9606 part 1 in October 2015.

BS 4872 parts 1 & 2

British standard BS 4872 parts 1&2 is for manual or semi-automatic fusion welding of steel fabrications for which the welding procedure does not have to be approved.

ASME Section IX

ASME IX is an American welding code for the construction of boilers, pressure vessels, and piping. This code ensures that the resulting weld complies with construction guidelines without compromising components or equipment integrity.

BS EN ISO 15614 parts 1 - 14

This British and European procedure test is for arc and gas welding of metals in all products and the arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys in all products.  It defines the conditions for execution of welding and qualification of welding within a range of variables.

Arc and gas welding are covered by:
  • Manual metal arc welding (MMA /111 / SMAW)
  • Metal inert gas welding (MIG / 131 / GMAW)
  • Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW / 311)
  • Submerged arc welding (SAW / 121 / 125)
  • Flux-cored metal arc welding (FCAW / 136)
  • Metal active gas welding (MAG / 135 / GMAW)
  • Plasma arc welding (PAW / 15)
  • Tungsten inert gas arc welding (TIG / GTAW)
Other types of joint testing offered:
  • Brazed and soldered joint testing
  • Resistance weld testing
  • Laser weld testing
  • Electron beam weld testing
  • Flash butt weld testing
  • Diffusion bonding testing

If further welding training is required to reach a specified quality level, our trainers can tailor courses according to your requirements.
